Hyper-allergy to the Frei’s antigen, 28 years after inguinal poradenitis infection

  • Luís de Sales Gomes

Abstract

The author refers to a case of venereal inguinal lymphogranulomatosis in which a retrospective diagnosis was made, by Frei's reaction, 28 years after the infection. Amongst other interestings features in the case he reports the following : Late answer toFrei’s antigen (6th.day) and reaction of such strong intensity that produced a scab. The reaction lasted almost two months to the cicatrization and during this time the patients general health was excellent, The author calls attention to these details of the case because they are not common in the allergic test on ancient lymphogranulomatosis patients. Finally he calls attention to the similarity between the reaction he observed and that which is usually met with in leprosy allergy when the Mitsuda antigen is used.
